Tonight’s LIST-ed is all about names I have been called… (Have I mentioned I just love the prompts in List Your Self?)
Now I can only tell you the names I have been called to my face… so, here goes.
1. Christy… err… uh, Crissy?
Crissy is my given name. I was named after my maternal grandfather Criss… (way before that magician guy was on the scene that made that spelling popular). But, no one ever got it right… so Crissy was often misspoken as Christy.
Truth be told, I usually would just let it slide. It was easier than explaining that yes my full name was Crissy, not short for Christine or Chrystal and no there wasn’t an “H” in my name. It really wasn’t that big of a deal to me. People eventually caught on and that worked.
2. Doodle Bug
As a young child my family called me Doodle Bug, which was later shortened to Doodle in my teen years. Today, Puddie sometimes calls me Doodle from time to time.
3. Puddie
In college, I met and married my college sweetheart… Puddie! And, because we are oh-so creative, we call each other the same nickname and it has stuck all these years later.
4. Crispy
Microsoft auto-corrects my name as Crispy, so I received a lot of emails “Dear Crispy”.
5. Sissy and then Cris
Crissy became Cris after a very embarrassing board meeting in which I endured being called Sissy by a board member in front of all of my co-workers for two hours… Up until then I was fine going by either name. The meeting made me rethink things a bit and I decided Cris was easier for everyone to understand and pronounce… but only after my co-workers had their laugh!
6. Mommy
Miss Add came along and made me Mommy. She gave me a name I had wanted for years and have treasured ever since.
7. @CrisGoode
Social Media hit the scene (or rather I found it) and @CrisGoode now graces all my business cards and name tags.

How about you? Any names you want to fess up to?
