Dear Reader-
As long as I can remember, I have always hated the cold.
I love fall… but with the exception of winter’s awesome traditions and family time, truth be told, I would really rather just skip the coldest months on the calendar.
In more recent years, when the thermometer would drop so would my mood… meeting most days with a blue attitude… or a funky fog.
Last year’s mild winter was a godsend… it reminded me of the days before I let “this thing” get to me.
Those who know me well, know that wallowing isn’t me… I don’t let things… especially things I can’t put my finger on… get me down.
So this blue period has been a bit out of character for me and a whole lot annoying… and I have been desperate to kick it.
As the recent chill has hovered over the Hoosier hills outside my warm and toasty home, I felt that familiar unwelcomed gloom lurking.
As if I left the house it would snatch me right up and not let me go until Spring.

But then something happened.
I was searching for a new study to use during my devotion time and I was struggling to find the right fit.
Then I came across Beth Moore’s Believing God and recalled how many I had heard rave about Beth Moore studies so I decided to give it a shot.
Still a little skeptical from my previous attempts at finding a solid study, I signed on for the online study and about two hours in I felt an overwhelming peace come over me.
A part of the beginning of this particular study is to wear a blue tasseled bracelet on your right wrist as a reminder of the study (a symbol taken from the Old Testament ~ Numbers 15:37-41).
This morning as I bundled up my jacket to face the weary weather, I noticed that blue on my wrist peeking out from my jacket sleeve…
And it hit me that this season was going to be filled with a different blue.
A new blue.
And thank God for that.
